IMAF Masters of Tapi-Tapi

Randi Schea, M.D., Chairman

Master Randi Schea, M.D., is currently an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc., and is appointed by Professor Remy Presas as the Chairman of the Board for the International Modern Arnis Federation (IMAF), and as Successor for the IMAF. In this capacity, Dr. Schea is charged and mandated to preserve the integrity, ethics, and prosperity of the IMAF, and to promote the growth of Modern Arnis worldwide. Dr. Schea has extensive martial arts training in karate, kung fu, judo/wrestling, and aikido. Dr. Schea first met Professor Presas in 1981 and has studied continuously and traveled with Professor Presas since that time in the capacity of student, friend, advisor, and confidant. Dr. Schea is also a board-certified radiation oncologist. He is currently employed as a full-time proprietary trader and continues to enjoy various competitive endeavors in several areas at the national level. Dr. Schea resides outside of Houston, TX.

James Ladis

Master Jim Ladis is currently an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc. and is appointed to the Steering Committee level. Master Ladis has extensive martial arts experience with focus in Modern Arnis and Ryukyu Kempo. Master Ladis has trained and traveled extensively with Professor Remy Presas since 1990. Professor Presas' wish was to have Modern Arnis taught and applied for the self-improvement, self-confidence, and self-defense of individuals with visual impairments. Master Ladis will be working on the training and application of Modern Arnis for the visually impaired, and his personal experience in this area will be invaluable. Master Ladis is a full-time software developer and project manager in the insurance industry, and he enjoys spending time with his wife, Annie, and teaching Modern Arnis where they reside in Chicago, IL.

Chuck Gauss

Master Chuck Gauss is currently an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc., and is appointed at the Steering Committee level. Master Gauss has extensive martial arts training with much focus in judo. Master Gauss has been training and traveling extensively with Professor Presas since 1991. Master Gauss is also actively involved with self-defense training for law enforcement personnel. In his spare time, Master Gauss is involved in hockey. He is also very involved and devoted to spending his time with his wife, Barbara, and their three sons. Master Gauss currently resides in Taylor, MI.

Gaby Roloff

Master Gaby Roloff is currently an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc., and is appointed to the Steering Committee level. Master Roloff has been training in Modern Arnis exclusively since 1985 and has traveled frequently to the United States and throughout Europe to learn directly from Professor Presas. Master Roloff is also active in her Modern Arnis instructions and teaches regularly in Hamburg, Germany. She travels several times per year in Europe to give seminars and workshops in Modern Arnis. Master Roloff is also the recipient of the IMAF Award for Meritorious Service (Europe) for her self-less generosity and care of Professor Presas during the time of his diagnosis and illness. Master Roloff enjoys teaching, training, and traveling globally. Master Roloff currently works in her own import-export business and resides in Hamburg, Germany.

Ken Smith (email)

Master Ken Smith is currently an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc., and is appointed to the Steering Committee level. Master Smith has extensive training in wrestling and karate. Master Smith has studied and traveled extensively with Professor Presas since 1992. Master Smith is a full-time professional martial artist and teaches at his school in Homer Glen, IL. Master Smith also trains with Professor George Dillman and holds and 8th Dan in Ryukyu Kempo Karate. Master Smith also holds a 6th Dan in Isshinryu Karate from Sensei Jesse Galagos. Master Smith is a master carpenter and enjoys various athletics and sports including hunting. He devotes much of his time to his two children.

Brian Zawilinski (email) IMAF Spokesperson

Master Brian Zawilinski is currently an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc., and is appointed to the Steering Committee level. Master Zawilinski has studied the martial arts for most of his life and has a strong focus in kenpo and Hun Yuan Tai Chi . He first studied Modern Arnis with Professor Presas and Sifu Lee Lowery in 1981. Master Zawilinski is 21 year veteran of the Connecticut Dept. of Correction, and is currently a Captain/Investigator. He has spent many years serving on Emergency Response Teams, the DOC K9 Unit, and he has been conducting tactical training (including PR-24, Expandable Baton, OC, cell extractions, Behavioral Management, and restraint applications) for most of his career. He currently resides in central Ct. and is devoted to spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Jeff Delaney (Not an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc.)

Master Jeff Delaney is not an Active Member of the IMAF, Inc. Master Delaney's background in martial arts stem from his study of kung fu and Brazilian jujitsu. Master Delaney was appointed Co-Successor in for the International Modern Arnis Federation (IMAF) in October 2000, to assist Dr. Randi Schea, Successor, and also to assist with the Masters of Tapi Tapi, to assure the success and prosperity of the Vision and Art of Modern Arnis as per the wishes of Professor Remy Presas. Master Delaney and his wife, Robin, currently reside outside of Austin, TX.
